Ok thought I'd start a discussion about adding these to the rear of the Hall. They seem to float around $200 to $500 for a install kit. I know my Parents Pleasureway has them on the rear and the handling is night and day on it if they are aired up or not. Really helps with the body roll on the twisties.
Thoughts? anyone thinking about this or done it on another vechical?

I haven't spent enough time driving the GTC to know if I'd want to add air springs. My Brougham is so light compared to the strengh of the chassis that it is not needed. That thing needs softer suspension if anything but the handling is great. Other than having to remember the width it's one of the easist to drive large vehicles I've ever experienced. The GTC definitely has a different feel to it with the extra long wheelbase and height.

Agreed I don't have a lot of drive time on mine either.. Hopefully I'll have a good feel for it by the end of summer. I don't have any sway bars on mine.. The air springs and the sway bar come in about the same price for new. If I recall Matt added a sway bar to his? It seems to me with how high it sits and no swaybars would cause bad body roll in the curves. It's of concern as the cascade range up here can be pretty twisty. Air Spring Kit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AIR-57105/I plan to do the suspention and steering this winter probably Feb/March 2012.. I want to replace all the Bushings/Shocks/Tie rods/ect and get it steering and riding really nice. (not that its bad now) I'll have to decide if it's worth adding. I do see that for another $300 they have a dual sensor auto leveling compressor kit for RV's.. Might be nice to always be level without having to use boards.

Matt's came with a front swaybar but looking at the way it mounts I'm not sure it does much. Seems like the brackets would be moving around a lot. I added a factory front sway bar to my Brougham but it has the later chassis so factory ones are easy to find. I haven't been able to find out if the factory made one for the earlier chassis. I think Matt said his has a rear bar on it too. On cars you don't want to put a rear bar on without a front one. I don't know if that would apply to these things.

I should report that I recently replaced just the front shocks on mine with Bilsteins. Dare I say Holy Crap!? With the new shocks and both swaybars the thing corners extremely well for an RV now, maybe just a wee bit too stiff if anything. I wonder what putting Bilsteins on the rear would do??? The rear springs on mine appear to be flattened out with none of the usual arc you would expect. How about yours?

Are you still happy with the front Bilsteins? I am thinking of doing that this year as I think my shocks are dead up front.

I oredered the RV 4600 Bilsteins for the front of my Hall. I'll report back once I get them installed in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry I didn't reply to your post! I just now discovered it, and it looks as if you've ordered shocks anyhow. So, you know that I installed a new sway bar in front that replaces that old (giant) one with the leaf spring mount, right? So at this point I have sway bars fore and aft, and the Bilsteins in front only, and it handles far better than it did with the old sway bar. Part of the reason for this, I assume, is that the old one had clamp-on mounts on the A arm with a plate that went over the top of the arm. This seems to have been a pretty bad design since, when I removed the clamps, the plates shot sideways with considerable force and the vehicle actually did a little bounce. The plates had migrated in between the coils of the springs, which limited the spring travel and made for weird "SPROINGing" noises as well!
I have no complaints at all with the current setup. The new bar was around $175.00.

You still need to post the pictures of your new front sway bar. Maybe start a new topic for it.

OK guys. I've attempted downloading the pics of the swaybar installation for about an hour now, but I can't seem to find the files for about half of the images. I'm working, or attempting to, with a Windows 8 system that has me baffled...
THAT didn't work either! If I can find the picture file with the photos I want I'll send em to Nick....
