Check this out !!!!!! So I ran across brake issue years ago , after being in the automotive business 30 plus years myself . So, I'm having the problem with brakes locking up . New master cylinder and someone replace the brake booster recently before, but check the rod clearance !!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, I backed of the adjusting nut, and brakes released !!!!!! Got 2 New front tires for 16 in conversion rims from 16.5s . Going to convert front hubs to 16in dually hubs soon i hope.

Are you changing the front hubs just so you can use the same wheels all around?

It makes sense to me one spare . 2 spares extra weight !! Plus , how to get the bumper to slide out , 2 top bolts 3/4 in head seam to be frozen . Is there a welded nut below inside the square steel tubing ???????

Nice! So the brakes were pretty-much on all the time? Please keep us posted on how that front spindle conversion goes. Will you have to change the tie rod and drag link as well?

You only need one spare with the current set up.

On my bumper, there are holes in the bumper pipes that pins go through. The pin has a clip at the bottom to keep it from coming out.

While mine are welded in 2d position!

I need to make a new bumper bracket to mount my Revcon bumper on the coach. It can't go in as far as the original bumper because the curve is different on the end. I want to use square tube going into the frame instead of the round ones and also incorporate a receiver hitch.

Have you checked to see if the next size down square tube will fit inside the existing tube? There might be a reason why the builders went with round, but I think it might have to do with not wanting corrosion to cause binding. But who knows?

Have you ever been contacted by the people who bought that GTC in Cambria? The one I was interested in for parts??

I read somewhere on your site ,a hall owner added a steering stabilizer aftermarket kit. What manufacture and kit part number did he use gaberial,Monroe ???? Ive driven 1200 miles so far from las vegas ,to reno,carson city , lake tahoe, redding ca , eureka ca,present city, cops bay or, Florence, Eugene and now Portland heading for my hood. So , I found the gtc steering wonders quite a bit. So I bought a Gabriel kit # 6850se with just a one bracket to mount on the link rod but not one to mount the other end to the frame. So , while driving I had major rear blowout , tires separation on the 16.5 dually. Went a bone yard in Carson city and found 4 8 lug 16 in duallys, after crawling around 3hrs in th
E bone yard . All around 16s now and brand new tires from Wal-Mart Dexero brand. I get the full warranty. I like Wal-Mart for batteries, tires, and other things. I'll be on the road in hall for 6 months out west and driving back to south Fla . I like that I can pull in any Wal-Mart and get any warranty done !!!! At home in Fla I buy local. Also fix filler neck on fresh water tank, all faucet seals, tried to clean gum up carb, I needed that nasty good over nite dip stuff, but couldn't get any . I bought a Tomco reman Holley from O'Reilly parts, first one float stuck , fuel spewing out of the top of air horn bowl area. Got a second one and works great for the last 1200 miles now!!! This hall has a leaf spring helper kit mounted across the underside of the control arms, any other halls have that. Must be to help front coil springs ??? Well if you could get in touch with the hall owner with steering stabilizer and this my ph# 941-661-8780 . Maybe he can call me ,Joe???? Oh, hall runs pretty strong on flat roads and light grade hills, but really bogs down on mountains where you have to drop it in second gear. Must be the 2 barrel Holley?????

I've seen those leaf spring front end helpers on Mexican truck down here that are carrying huge loads. they must help carry the overweight loads they're toting.

I see that neither of my comments on this made it through.... So here goes again: I'm the guy that installed the steering dampener, as well as a front swaybar. I ALSO replaced every single steering component, including the steering gear itself, along with the fiber steering column "U-joint", All in an effort to eliminate steering wander. Because of a bad "rebuilt" gear from NAPA, I had to re-replace it with one that cost a bit, but was well worth it. The dampener alone will not correct your wander, I'm afraid. Our Halls are heavy in the front because of the overhead AC unit, and that, along with such a long wheelbase result in eventual wear to the steering system as a whole. I used all the heaviest-duty components I could find, including a beautiful steering box from "Red-Head" in Washington.

i also put a steering stabilizer on the front as well as replacing front end parts..the wander is kinda a old car feature...dodge darts ,dusters from those years steered similar actually...you would have to customize it a bit in order to change that...but the point is u really tighten up that unit and can feel the road well and u get the feel of where its going so u can steer it well..springs in the front make a difference as well...the newer springs they seell in aftermarket are a bit more stiff and height wise lower...lots of stuff u can do to make driving it more enjoyable if u got some $$$ i look forward to the process of completly restoring my own...
