Hey,

Everyone I just purchased a 1982 Hall GTC a week ago, been living, and urban camping in it for the past week. Trying to find any info I can about the hall, so, I can keep her in tip top condition. Look forward to participating on the forum. Rav :D

Nick Taylor, the guy responsible for this site, has done some research on your vehicle I think. What we DO know is that it was built a number of years after the Hall Coach Co built their products in late 1973, perhaps up to early 74. The originals all had the 360 and the interior was a bit differently arranged - plus the over-cab area housed the A/C unit and their was no hatch on the roof. Yours is quite different and interesting. I think it'd be neat to have some kind of GTC get together in the Spring....... at least for California owners.

Welcome aboard.

Can you tell us if there are any manufacturer tags on the coach? The seller didn't list it until I told him it looked like our GTCs.

There is already a gallery page for the coach, if you want me to update it with your info, let me know.

Nick

Hey Guy's,

Thanks for the warm welcome, sorry it took so long to get back on the forum, but I've been working 80hrs plus a week finishing up a TV show. It's very interesting that my coach isn't per say, an actual Hall. I have done a little more looking, and the interior of the original Hall is quite a bit different. Seems my coach is somewhat one of a kind. There are no Hall plates, or manufacturing plates of any kind, that I can find anywhere in my motorhome.

I would love to find out some real history on my RV, and I would also be very interested in a meetup for Cali owners if anyone plans that out.

I don't know if you saw this other late one in the gallery - http://www.hallgtc.com/hall_012.htm

It is a cargo version. It originally had a 440 engine as well. They couldn't find any manufacturer markings on it either. I'm pretty sure someone got ahold of the original molds from Hall Coach to make these as they have some changes that would have had to be done in the mold. Still a mystery and I don't know how many are out there. Just have to stumble on them.

What does the registration say on yours? Is it registered as a Dodge?

Yes, Nick it is registered as just a 1982 Dodge, no further discription. I am also not sure that it has a 440. I replaced the alternator, as I am having an overcharging issue, and I just got an alternator for a 360, and it was the exact same one on the vehicle. Maybe the 440, and 360, used the exact same alt, not sure.

You can tell which engine you have easily by the location of the distributor. If it's at the rear of thengine it's a 360. If at theront, a 440.

my distributor is def in the front, so, I guess it is a 440ci after all. I am really wanting to pull it, and put a Dodge Cummins 4bt, or 6bt, in it.

You might want to talk to other people who've done this first before deciding. I'd personally be more inclined to invest in an aftermarket fuel injection conversion, which would cost you about 1/6th what a full on Diesel changeover would, and you'd probably gain around 2 MPG.
