Hi, My name is Barry (begbixl) I recently bought Al's 1974 Hall gtc. I have replaced wheels and tires (16inch),brakes,tie rod end,one bearing/race,shocks. I've repaired the step and all the drawer catches. It's not in bad shape, but needs some small repairs and ideally some paint. I'm looking at sway bars by Hellwig Front,#7168 Rear,#7166. Has any one tried these? I wonder if the gas tank will be in the way for the rear. Anyway, I will send photos and updates when I can.

Barry,
Thanks for the introduction. And congratulations on your new coach. Sounds like you've been busy already working on it.
I don't have sway bars on mine so not sure about the clearance. As long as it mounts underneath the axle or in front of it, it should clear the tank. Maybe you can get a copy of the installation instructions. I'm assuming you have the one large 50 gallon gas tank.
Let me know what pictures and information you want on the gallery page for your GTC and I'll update it.
Nick.

I have a front swaybar available that I removed from mine. It had front and rear bars when I got it, but the ride was a bit hard for my liking. There are photos of it on this site - somewhere. The setup includes a transverse spring that acts as a kind of overload, I suppose, and all attaching hardware. Let me know if you're interested.

Here's a link to the thread that has the pictures of your front sway bar. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=22#p111I added a factory front bar to my '79 Brougham and really don't know if it makes that much of a difference. What was your rear bar like? Did you remove it as well? Typically you don't want to run a rear bar without a front one.

I have to say my last trip had a long strip of very curvy road that a sport car would dream of and the hall did just as good as my parents 99 pleasure way. I have no sway bars front or back. Somehow through they set this rig up to drive way better then I'd expect.
