So I kind of wish I had this option in mine. In the long run it'd be nice for when we have kids to have the extra bed/seating. If someone decides to take it apart and restore can you snap a bunch of pictures and measure everything and post it up here? I'm pretty handy but having a idea of sizes and hardware would be very helpfull in making something from scratch. Just thought I'd put the request out now..

Mine are sliding around loose in my coach. I can take pictures if you want. They did use them in other coaches but I've yet to find a set in the junkyard since I got mine.

Yeah if you get time and can take a bunch of pictures and some measurements that would be great. I worry how complex the hardware might be to try and fab or source.

It might be a bit complicated to replicate if you don't have one sitting there to copy. A big difference from a standard dinette is that when lowered, the backs extend past the frame. I think you have to move the front seat up and the other end extends into the doorway. I don't think I took any pictures of mine laid out flat before I disconnected them but I'll do that this weekend.

If you wanted to get your hands on a set to copy, Al Johnston in Yakima has the originals out of his in storage. He was going to sell them to me but decided to hold off until he sold his GTC or not. I haven't heard from him in a while so I don't know what's going on there. Maybe he could lend you one to copy. He said he does go to Portland often. Yeah the trick is in the Hardware.. The wood parts can pretty much be remade.

If you get time even some photos of the hardware might help me trying to make my own at some point. I had thought about asking to buy them but yeah figured someone buying the hall might want them. (I would have). I wonder if I could find like modern hardware and build my own to fit.

I didn't get around to taking the pictures over the weekend. These seats are mostly made out of steel tubing. There really isn't any wood on them. I know on Matt's he has some sort of box that fits around the bases to close them off. Mine didn't have anything like that, you just see the frame underneath.

I'll try to take some pics tonight when I get home.

Interesting.. No rush but when you get time I'd like to see pictures of it.

Ok, here are some crummy pictures but you'll mostly get the idea. Since my seats aren't bolted to the floor anymore I had a hard time working them. Couldn't get the one to lay down. The seats can lay down flat into a bed and the side things extend out and another cushion goes there to make it wider. I don't have that part. I think Matt does. They can also be flipped to face other directions so you can have both facing forward for the kiddies to ride in down the road. They also slide back and forth like car seats so that you can move them together to make the bed.

Dinette mode, the seats are in the wrong positions in this picture. I rearranged them later.

Hey Nick, are those still the original front seats, or the new ones? I'd like to see what the originals looked like, if you wouldn't mind. Those are some LOUD dinette seats. What were they thinking?

I don't know if my front seats are original or not. I think the upholstery was done in the early '80s or late '70s. One of the old adds I have for my GTC mentions the new upholstery and that they were also using club chairs instead of the dinette but they mention the dinette so I still have them. The front seats, dinette and the rear bed are all covered in that horrid fabric and they even made pillows and curtain tie-backs. If you look at the brochure you'll see different seats than what I have. Eric had similar ones that he now has mounted where the dinette would go. Wonder what happened with that one? I'd like to have it for the upholstery (even soaked in tobacco smoke like it is) and the original front seats, but my wife would never let me.

How wide are the Dinette Seats? Can someone post when they get a chance to measure?

Including the sliding edge pads and the drop-in extension cushions? I'll measure mine if you want.

ill get a picture of mine so u can see the difference...mine are kinda different ...they dont have that extension on them,:( would be cool, and also much more tame style the only problem i have with mine is on one of them i cant get it to stay up in the stting postion when u put weight on it...the pull handle doesnt quite lock completly...ive sprayed it ..wiggled ..got pinched for my efforts grrr...so i dunno...still works for flat bed or reversed seating or reverse lounge

That's not the original upholstery on mine. They were typically a corduroy material. You should have had the extensions. There are tubes on the frame they slide into and there is a cushion that goes there that stores on the side of the rear bed under the flip up shelf. I'm missing both the shelf and the extension cushion.
