If you have the dual tanks you will have two fillers. The one behind the cab and one further back. I'm pretty sure the extra tank is located in the compartment where the batteries are or in that area. The rear tank will be the stock Dodge van tank that comes with the chassis.
If you scroll up a few posts in this thread you will see a picture of my tank from the side. You can see that it is custom made to fit around the frame and such. This is the 50 gallon tank.

oki well i do not have two fillers i couldnt find a second tank either just 1 ...but either my gauge is faulty or i have a bunch of gas leaking or the original tank was replaced cuz i think i only have about a 19-21 gallon tank

What does your tank look like? Can you post a picture?
In your forward filler hatch is there a hole there where a filler might have been? On mine it is not cut out but still has the locking door.
21 gallons wouldn't last long in one of these things.

BTW, the gas tank in my '79 Brougham is 36 gallons and it's the same tank that came in the B300 vans at the time. It's a plastic tank. Not sure if it would fit in the GTC.

I also have a 50 gal single tank and still have the damnable gas smell after filling. And I still can't tell where it's coming from. ????? Oh for X-ray vision!

The guy at the garage who supposedly "fixed" the problem after I couldn't find it has one, but he couldn't find it.  I think that's probably about the only way.

Where do you smell it? Inside? Outside? While driving?

yea well mine only smells when u fill it up to the top....asnd the fumes are fairly strong inside the coach

Ditto. Actually, that isn't entirely correct. I smell the fumes every time I put gas in the tank. Doesn't have to be full. But filling isn't all that simple a deal either, since I'm Not sure about the accuracy of the gauge and the old style filler neck can get snagged on some newish gas nozzles.

can someone send a good picture of what the whole fuel tank looks like..im most likely going to purchase a new one because mine has been replaced with one that is just to small..(21 gallons or so) and id like to see the configuration of the original

That could be tricky with the tank in situ, as they say. Probably about the only way would be to drop the tank completely and take pics and measurements. It would be possible (and expensive) to have one fabricated, since they're welded plate steel to begin with. Mine must be lined with something cuz, so far, I've never seen any rust in the filters.

I checked mine. it is only 2 years old and the leaf springs had rubbed a small hole. it is like the one in the last flex pipe picture on previous post. I am going to get a piece of metal flex pipe and put over my new one. thanks for the heads up

pulled my flex tube. the fumes I had been smelling were in fact on the top of the hose where the leaf rubs. not enough to drip just stink. I had to cut it in half and use a 90 degree metal pipe in between to go under the spring. you couldn't even see the weak spots because the hose was stretched when rubbing and compressed when just sitting.

What??? Are you saying that the hose actually moves or are the springs deflecting and rubbing? Something sounds wrong with this picture. At no time should that filler hose be rubbing on anything.

More fuel filler line surprises!
I've had terrible gas vapor problems inside the vehicle, not outside. Our trip this last weekend made the issue a critical fix project to say the least. I've never been able to locate the source of the leak - until today, when I removed the closet rear wall liner and took a peek just down - way down - behind the back of the fender inner liner. Lo and behold, there is a short piece of rubber hose that connects the filler opening to the down tube, and I can see gasoline stains (and smell them) all over the place. There is absolutely NO way to get to the thing without first removing the toilet (no easy task!!!) and then the one piece fiberglass enclosure that makes up the sink base and equipment cover first. These old Thetford toilets have a very hard to reach and impossible to see rear closet flange bolt that must be accessed through a small aperature on the top of the seat support., since there isn't enough room or access to reach it from anywhere else. This appears to be about the most challenging fix I've attempted on this rig and if anyone else has given it a go I'd love to hear about it.

Well, I think I've managed to fix the problem. Had to drill another hole in the top of the toilet about 3" over to the right of the factory one, which doesn't help at all, since the actual closet flange nut is loacted out of sight and out of reach. That nut requires a very specific 1/2" socket that's deeper than a standard but shorter than today's typical style. After drilling the new access hole I was just barely able to drop a ratchet box wrench over the nut ang get it off. Ugh.
I found that all the hose clamps that hold the gasoline and vapors in the tubes were very loose and there were obvious gas stains everywhere. Had to drill a new 1 1/2" hole with a hole saw to expand the access to the clamp screw on the bottom of the filler tube, which worked fine. Used a big screwdriver to tighten all the clamps and it seems to have done the trick. Here's hoping!
I hope to be able to find a new toilet that fits the very tight space alloted in the GTC - something that has flange bolts you can reach without so much grief. Has anyone done this???????

I failed to mention that the ratchet box wrench I used was inserted from the almost impossible to reach rear of the toilet, but having the new (and improved!) access hole allowed me to see the nut and wrench; otherwise it would be by gosh and by golly.
