Hi Gang. Has anyone had any problems with and success repairing the water level panel gauge? Mine suddenly stopped working. All the peripheral components appear good, but no workee.

When my fresh water tank was replaced, they didn't install the sender. :(

From what I've read, it's not that hard to add one.

I rebuilt the sender when I got the new tank, so it's fine. The actual gauge is kaput and I can't seem to find anything, even after spending way too much time looking for one on the web. I'm considering an upgrade, since our battery and tank readouts arn't all that accurate to begin with. I'd prefer to find an original though.

I see those types of gauges in the junkyard from time to time. I'm sure there must be some sort of digital readout that is better. Maybe you could mount one of those in a different spot.

I'm sure that a modern instrument would be better. Maybe. The thing about the ancient technology used in our units is that the resistance readings are extremely accurate except for variances in mineral conductivity (from disolved solids) in water. The level probe consists of two parallel conductors seperated by a non-conductive (plastic) rod; no float, no tape and no through-wall screw-in fittings to cause trouble. The only weird thing is that you have to re calibrate the meter every time the tank is filled. New metering units, good ones, run around $150.00 to $250.00!

Excellent. Let's hope it's there.

There sure are a lot of new ones on the market!
