something broke or came loose in the front suspension making a fairly significant banging noise over bumps ...visually only thing i could see was maybe a rod of somekind running lengthwise to the body that popped out of its bracket ..or broke dunno...im afraid to drive it...may have to have it towed or have someone take a look...or keep investigating

Also might want to check the center support for the driveshaft while you're under there. Glad the original issue was something easy.

anyone had any experience with the coil springs...i have had trouble with finding springs that match the originals
the springs on there now are about 15 inches free...and compress to about 13 inches...all springs i could find are about 13 inches and compres down to 11inches...could make tires a problem...with clearance issues...anyone have original part # or info may be helpful

What vehicle are you looking them up under? Sounds like ones for a B300.

Looking at RockAuto.com, they don't seem to list springs for the early motorhome chassis. I looked at a '79 CB300 with a 440 engine and they have springs that are closer to what you're looking for. I'm pretty sure they would fit your rig if that's the height of springs you have now if you look at the interchange information. I don't know if Matt changed his springs or not.

Has anyone tried to replace the front bump stops ?
I notice mines been bottoming out and I looked and see the bump stops look kinda soft and on the passenger side the metal where the top bumps onto is bent up.
