Matt Tritt was suffering from fuel odor in the coach and found the problem was the hoses that connect the fuel filler and vent tube to the down pipe to the tank. This is on the rear tank with a single 50 gallon tank but is probably the same for the rear tank if you have the dual tanks. To access the area, you need to remove the toilet which is its own challenge. See this post for more info on that - viewtopic.php?f=4&t=170 The real fix for this requires removing the platform that the toilet sits on but this is not so easy. Below are pictures of what Matt did to get access to the clamps on these hoses.

Thanks for putting these up Nick. To clarify, to remove the toilet platform/tank cover, you must remove the teak finish molding, which is fastened with nails. Doing so will likely break this piece because of it's age and small cross section and finding suitable old-growth teak suitable for shaping would not be that easy. I wish they had used nice little # 4 stainless or brass screws! |
