hey my mechanic and i are working on a lot of the electrical connects that were driving me crazy(gas gauge,blinkers,running lights,speedo,odometer) one of the light bulbs was actually in backwards causing the signal to short out ...little ground wires were corroded as well as the signal socket itself..we sandblasted the original; socket(cleaned out the corrosion and rust) works great...we soldered a new tiny little recepter spline (lil metal conducter on gauge pod where connecter connects with 8-10of them) made the gas gauge come back to life and the gauge lights as well..so all my gauges and lights work! also bought a carb rebuild kit ...(had a flat spot) ..nice and smooth now got the new wheels and tires on ...and the original seats reupholstered and installed..wow! just need a new spring set and install shocks on rear....my mechanic said these older motor homes had a tensity to lean on one side due to the appliances being on one side of rv...is it a problem 4 these?..also needs an exhaust.. has anyone had to put a muffler on this beast? duals ..? was it all custom work or are there some aftermarket bolt ons? also cant get any action on the toilet ..

Sounds like you've been very busy. I haven't even touched mine for a long time other than to drive it around once or twice a month.

When I got mine, a lot of the exterior lights did not work. Mostly the clearance lights and the taillights. I found that I had a short in the harness that goes up the left windshield pillar up into the roof area behind the air conditioner. I had to get another harness from the junkyard to rebuild it. There isn't much room to push the wires up through the hole that is there for the factory wiring.

A lot of my interior light problems were due to the switches next to the side entry door. I replaced the three switches and haven't had a problem since.

the exhaust system on mine is a custom made dual setup. You might be able to find a factory y-pipe for the front but everything past the muffler would probably have to be custom built. It's not that expensive to have a good independent muffler shop build you a system.

Can't help on the toilet. Never used mine. I'm sure Matt will chime in on that.

And my coach doesn't seem to lean. The suspension if over capacity for these rigs. Plus if you travel with a full water tank, it probably will offset the weight of the appliances anyway.

im glad i didnt have to get into that...yesterday we repaired the lighter plug and dome light which was malfunctioning due to a short circuting due to a fuse that one end of it was loose in the fuse box...crimped in the ends of the little metal recievers in there so the fuse was a bit tighter and now all my dash lights and all gauges are functioning properly woooohoo....today get to test the speedo with the new cable installed and the adjustments on the rebuilt carb...ill post some pictures/ video when finished

Sounds like you're having fun now! You'll discover that the original DC fuse panel in the AC/DC converter requires attention now and then - mainly the fuse contacts on the main (50 amp). Not sure if it's an obsolete size or what, but the current (ha ha) variety of those little buggers seems a bit larger than the original must have been and the fuses comes loose pretty often. When cartridge fuses come loose it's common to get an arc, which burns the fuse out PDQ. I carry a LOT of spares.

I replaced my exhaust system completely: 2.5" exhaust pipes joining at the muffler input end to 3", a resonator (to try and minimize the hotrod effect) and a single 3" that emerges just ahead of the driver's side rear wheels. I used a free flow muffler to eliminate any back pressure. What with the headers and Edelbrock intake side, the sound is not as demure as I was hoping for, but it works like gangbusters.

What's wrong with the toilet? No water? Valves won't function, or??

no water ...no function on the toilet ..all other water systems are working
