Well, I'm going to talk to the wife... Jim's made me an offer on this without the genset. But before that point in time maybe someone wants it whole.

In all seriousness, its almost a shame to split it up as it's in such good condition and ready to go more or less.

It did sound like it will need 2 new front tires, the current ones being weather checked, though they have plenty of tread. The belts will also need replaced (he has some new replacements that are 10 years old or so). Belts are an easy job, just takes a bit of patience when it's in a van.

I wouldn't drive it any great distance on old tires, even if they look good. The rear ones are especially a problem because if one blows it can cause serious damage to the body. The 16.5 rims are not safety style rims so the tire can come off the rim easily.

Overall the coach looks to be in really good shape. If it had the original generator in working condition I'd agree about not splitting it up but another generator can be sourced or if you're mostly going to camp where you have shore power it's not that big of a deal.

I'd say there's a fair chance I'll either grab this one or the one in New York. If this one sells fast, then it'll make my decisions much easier.

If I were to get this one, I should be able to locate some coined 16" wheels in or around Colorado Springs (being active on some diesel boards).

It'd be a lot to organize in short order, but we'll see. The price itself won't phase the wife, but add gas for 1000 miles, an airline ticket, new tires and emergency money and we have to start stretching a bit.

Jim is very nice if anyone else is interested. Pretty straight forward and happy to answer questions.

So are you going to try and buy it with or without the generator? Looking at the pictures, it's much nicer than mine. I'd go for it if I didn't alreay have two motorhomes and no parking.

The front wheels are easy. Since you're mentioning coined wheels I'll assume you are planning to put duals on it. Definitely easier to get tires for anywhere for the 16" duals.

Yes, he gave me a price on it without the generator. I would likely be putting a diesel into this, if I were to get it, so I'd want a generator to match.

And yes, I'd put duals on it. I do like the safety factor of having dual wheels... and being able to get tires most anywhere.

I'm considering getting in contact with an RV storage lot out there and just see if it could be stored there until I can get the extra coin to comfortably handle tires, gas and the inevitable miscellaneous.

Yes. That's a good idea. I have heard back from a storage lot in Colorado Springs that's 27 a month (outdoor of course). So that's pretty reasonable. In a worst case scenario.

Having picked up projects like this before, surprises can take a lot of money on the way home... and i don't want to be stranded with no extra cash.

Do these use mechanical fuel pumps?

That's cheap. Here in San Diego you can't get rv storage for less than $100 a month.

Yes, they use a mechanical fuel pump mounted to the timing cover.

i think i bought this 1 ...jim was the owner ..it was in olney springs colorado...and i did not want original generator..yes it was in good shape...needed tires and some suspension work..toilet not operational..needed lights in many places ...so far fer a 4000$ price and prolly 2000$ invested it will be ready to roll...im going to reupholster original seats and covers made by my neighbor for the dinnette set...maybe new carb. and new wheels and tires
