hey u out there in cyber space what do u have for exhaust on your halls? mine seems to be customised a bit ..(single exiting in front of rear wheel on drivers side) but it needs new muffler and i am wondering about options..there seems to be no direct fit replacement parts for thelength of this chassis..does anyone have dual exhausts? i think it would sound pretty good with some duals on it but i dunno if it would get too hot for the equipment back there...thanks for your input

Mine has dual exhaust that exits right after the rear wheels. I have the stock exhaust manifolds. You can see some parts of the exhaust on this page. http://www.hallgtc.com/hall_001_wheels.htm

Note where the left tailpipe is pretty close to the leaking fuel filler hose. Fixed the hose since that picture was taken.

You're pretty much stuck with having a muffler shop custom build it but any good shop will have no problem. You may be better off with a larger single exhaust system instead of duals.

Mine came with a really iffy dual exhaust system that had no crossover pipe. Ran like poop and sounded even worse. On the passenger side, the pipe terminated just ahead of the side door so plenty of fumes would make their way inside I converted to a single 3" pipe, free-flow muffler and the exit is just ahead of the driver's side rear wheel well. It already had stainless headers. To do it right with duals you'd need to to route the pipes up and over the rear axle, which means being close to the gas tank and losing a bit of ground clearance at the back. I would also make sure that there is a crossover pipe to allow for proper exhaust scavenging - or you end up with 2 4 cylinder engines, exhaust-wise. The firing order is such that the engine sends exhaust pulses from one bank and then the other, which is "supposed to be" the correct arrangement with a common exhaust.

i dunno if i updated my exhaust note;) but it turned out great..lil bit louder...damn...duals exit in front of back wheels...now i can tell i have leaky gasket up front though...so that now needs be repaired...but runs and sounds better

well i found out the other day when i started up the hall that the exhaust was very loud.i just had a new dual setup on there last year...the garage told me there was an exhaust manifold leak in there as well..but since i was in need of it for a trip i didnt fix it at that time...well anywys i brought it in recently and the manifold was actually broken...so we decided to buy some new headers for it since trying to find some original exhaust parts will prolly be very difficult and prolly more expnsive...i found some headers at jegs(hedman) my preference...hopefully its a blessing in disguise because ill prolly get some better power from the motor and cooler running temps..anybody had to do this before?

Be sure that you get ones made for low end power, not high end racing! Don't be nervous about asking questions. Mine are stainless and well made but maybe transfer a little more noise than the iron variety. OK because they also are a lillte better at clearing the starter and the doghouse.

You can also wrap them to keep the heat and noise down.
